So, Gulf Coast Getaway was this past weekend and it was amazing! While it was snowing like crazy all weekend in Boone, I was enjoying the sunny 60 degree weather on the beach in Panama City. It doesn't get much better than watching a beautiful sunset over the ocean while sitting in a hot tub. Me, Amanda, Heather, and Samantha stayed in a penthouse. It was like twice the size of my apartment.

Even though those things were great, they didn't have much to do with why the weekend was so wonderful. It was one of the most spiritually uplifting weekends I've ever had. The singing was so beautiful and you could tell that it was from the heart. I can't wait to by the worship cd when the link comes up on gulfcoastgetaway.org. The speaker, Randy Harris, had such a honest and inspirational way of speaking that shed a whole new light on some scriptures that I've read and heard so many times. He put such a realistic spin on things and it all just seemed to hit home.  One of my favorite things he said: "We're supposed to be fishers of men, not keepers of the aquarium."

I took my Bible and went out on the beach by myself Sunday afternoon and spent some time in study and prayer. That was probably the best part of the weekend for me because its very rare that I take the time to do that, which is something I'm planning on changing. That time alone with God really helped me in dealing with some issues that I've been ignoring and letting build up inside of me. It got me to thinking what good can come of these issues instead of why did they have to happen and also that in the grand scheme of eternity, they're so insignificant. This trip also got me to thinking about mission work again. It was just a great weekend and I feel so much closer to God and everyone from our group that went.

Ok Angela, this is for you since you complained about me not updating in forever, and I don't feel like unpacking right now....

So I just got back to Boone today from Christmas break.  I had a great break. I got to spend time with my family, whom I miss and love. They got to meet Rob and they all like him, which I knew they would because he's wonderful. I also got to spend a couple of days at his house. Even when we were at the Wake Forest basketball game or just sitting in the den watching football I was having a great time because I was with him. His parents are great and as far as I know, they like me too. But now that I'm back at school, its going to be wierd not being able to see him all the time. But I'm going to let God take over because if this relationship is meant to be, then it'll be, and so far so good. Luckily, he's only a little over an hour away and I get to see him tomorrow because he'll be here for a student teacher meeting. I'm smiling just thinking about it.

So, my friend Lauren wants me to go to Orlando with her over spring break because her parents have a time share and we wouldn't have to pay for lodging. So I'm thinking if I can work my butt off and make some money since my class schedule isn't too bad this semester, I might be able to pull it off...we'll see.

Gulf Coast Getaway this weekend!!!  I'm so excited! I can't wait to see Angela and hopefully meet her guy and spend a weekend on the beach with my awesome church friends that I haven't seen in about a month!

classes start tomorrow...thus begins another semester....

"Because of you
I find it hard to trust
Not only me, but everyone around me
Because of you
I am afraid"  - Kelly Clarkson

"See the stone set in your eyes
See the thorn twist in your side
I'll wait for you
Sleight of hand and twist of fate
On a bed of nails she makes me wait
And I wait without you
With or without you
With or without you"  - U2

"Thinking bout every little thing we ever did crazy
Sipping on that memory lane
That lane never closes, seven days of the week
I can drive in my sleep"  - Gavin DeGraw

"And so it is
Just like you said it would be
Life goes easy on me
Most of the time
And so it is
The shorter story
No love, no glory
No hero in her skies"  - Damien Rice

"A hopeless romantic but nothing feels right
A ship full of lovers that sails out of sight
A perfect beginning but why does it end
And when will I learn to let someone in
I wait for the answers to fall from the sky"  - Sister Hazel

"At night I pray
that soon your face
will fade away"  - Britney Spears

"I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
Your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone"  - Evanescence

"Cause it’s all in my head
I think about it over and over again
I replay it over and over again
And I can’t take it, I can’t shake it no"  - Nelly and Tim McGraw

"I tear my heart open, I sew myself shut
My weakness is that I cared too much
My scars remind me that the past is real
I tear my heart open just to feel"  - Papa Roach

"Maybe the past is like an anchor holding us back. Maybe, you have to let go of who you were to become who you will be."  - Carrie Bradshaw (Sex and the City)
